This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This has such a cute story to it。 I wasn’t a huge fan of the jealousy plot point because it seemed at odds with the romance, but it was still good。

art style 9/10characters/romance 7/10story 7/10Sweet characters and gorgeous art。 The romance is fairly low key but touching。 More down to earth rather than heart racing。Humble story with some moving elements, looking forward to a sequel。

Eine wirklich schöne und süße kleine Geschichte zwischen zwei wunderbaren Jungs。

This manga is fairly character centred。Some lines rubbed me the wrong way。The jobs of the main characters affected the plot and really like that。

This was such a sweet story。 Although it felt a little rushed - liminal time - the majority takes place over like a year and a half and then the "epilogue" skips 3 years but they look the same and very little has changed in their lives。 This was such a sweet story。 Although it felt a little rushed - liminal time - the majority takes place over like a year and a half and then the "epilogue" skips 3 years but they look the same and very little has changed in their lives。 。。。more

a very cute and quick read。 i bought it primarily because it has an lgbtq rep。 it was a little confusing at first, but that’s mainly because it was my first manga。 it portrays multiple relationships well, and not just romantically。 it shows the struggles of platonic and familial relationships, while also showing personal struggles as well, which i liked。 i loved how the each character contradicted each other, not creating a perfect vision of any of the characters。

4。5/5, so I rounded it up to a five。I really enjoyed how the relationship developed throughout the manga。 We weren't rushed into their relationship, instead it grew based on how well the characters compliment each other。Cocomi did an awesome job with the pacing and the storytelling。 Nothing felt rushed and it felt like they were developing together naturally, though the manga is quite short。 There were some moments where I was laughing out loud from second-hand embarrassment and from the cutenes 4。5/5, so I rounded it up to a five。I really enjoyed how the relationship developed throughout the manga。 We weren't rushed into their relationship, instead it grew based on how well the characters compliment each other。Cocomi did an awesome job with the pacing and the storytelling。 Nothing felt rushed and it felt like they were developing together naturally, though the manga is quite short。 There were some moments where I was laughing out loud from second-hand embarrassment and from the cuteness。 And there was definitely a tear shed at one point。 Overall, I wish it was longer and I was hoping for more backstory for Yamato, but perhaps that what will be in the follow-up! 。。。more

I'm so angry at myself。 I hate that I found this book a month ago, that first day I discovered the bl genre。。。 BUT I DIDN'T READ IT! I was so into Seaside Stranger that time that I found it hard to let other works in。 Augh, I totally hate myself!!Because this manga is so wholesome!! Cocomi was saying that they're (not sure about their gender haha) not sure if they pulled it off and if they moved you in anyway, well, I'm going to tell you here: You moved me。 I adore this book so much。 It's flawless。 I just wished I pushed myself to read it sooner。Yamato was a lonely soul who couldn't let anyone into his heart。 But wore a smile to mask that loneliness。 He always put in his gratefulness first。 I just felt blue that he was abandoned as a baby。 He reminded me of Anne so much。 They're both strong characters。Mitsuomi, on the other hand, was a spoiled kid。 I love his character development。 Moved me into tears when he mellowed out and when he confronted Harada。 He also needed that closure, in order to free himself up。 I felt proud when he opened up to his father about that business。 Even though, his father is kind of silent and cold as ice, even prickly (like him, before), you know he's well loved。They are polar opposites of each other。 But that is why they fit each other perfectly。 Because they create the balance。 I'm jealous, I know。The story build up is simple, rather, it's healing, that's why it's "restart" in the first place。 They did not put any unnecessary identity crisis and I love that。 They just went with the flow。That: it's just normal if I like that guy。 That I'm not sick or anything。 Yes, part of the society might gossip behind my back, but it's not a problem, some other people treats us the same。I liked that it was put as simply as that。 It's actually refreshing。Both characters came to this certain town to restart their lives。 And, I'm just happy that they found each other; and all regrets, problems, and any other conflict are solved。 I hope what Yamato dreamt of will come true。 It will definitely give me a huge smile in my face。 Or bring me to a non-stop tears of joy。 。。。more

I don’t care that I’m not the target demographic for this manga。 It was still amazing。 This is what most gay manga should be known for。 Not a lot of the sexual assault crap that happens in a lot of series。 I definitely recommend it, lgbta or just a straight ally like myself。

Boys’ love skews towards stories about high school aged guys。 That makes sense to me, there’s something romantic about that period of life。 Hormones and inexplicable crushes, young people on the verge of being adults, expectations of conformity and the quiet rebellion of going against it all with a single kiss。That said, it’s refreshing–especially as someone who’s in that weird in between stage, definitely not a young adult but certainly not in a place where I feel like a settled, acclimated “ad Boys’ love skews towards stories about high school aged guys。 That makes sense to me, there’s something romantic about that period of life。 Hormones and inexplicable crushes, young people on the verge of being adults, expectations of conformity and the quiet rebellion of going against it all with a single kiss。That said, it’s refreshing–especially as someone who’s in that weird in between stage, definitely not a young adult but certainly not in a place where I feel like a settled, acclimated “adult”–to see BL characters in the next phase of their life。 I think of stories like Our Dining Table (one of my all time favs), or Seaside Stranger。 There is a certain romance about that in between stage。 Struggling to find your place in the world, failed jobs or relationships, feeling aimless or stuck, the hope that someone will come along and give you new purpose。Maybe it’s not a surprise a manga with a title like Restart After Coming Back Home falls into the latter。Check out the rest of the review on my BL blog: https://michaellyonswrites。wordpress。。。。 。。。more

I started reading manga at too late an age to have any interest in high school romance storylines。 The whole "I wonder if this person likes me, teehee" angles that dominate the books just don'e speak to me。 So it's nice that this book focuses on adult men in love。A guy in his mid-twenties has been living on his own in the city。 He loses his job and comes home to find an eager to please new neighbor is involved with his family。 From there, it's the familiar trope of disenchanted man is annoyed by I started reading manga at too late an age to have any interest in high school romance storylines。 The whole "I wonder if this person likes me, teehee" angles that dominate the books just don'e speak to me。 So it's nice that this book focuses on adult men in love。A guy in his mid-twenties has been living on his own in the city。 He loses his job and comes home to find an eager to please new neighbor is involved with his family。 From there, it's the familiar trope of disenchanted man is annoyed by the upbeat new stranger but slowly finds himself falling in love with him, and isn't sure how to come to terms with that feeling。The story is a little tell-rather-than-show but I believed every character's motivations, and enjoyed the pace of the developing relationship。 。。。more

A nice, concise BL manga。 I like that it’s about dudes in their 20s and that the story takes place in the countryside。 Also excellent release from Seven Seas, it’s printed at a larger size and with color pages kept in tact。 Keep it up, Seven Seas。

Definitely expecting a volume 2 The story progressed too quickly at times but once I got used to the pacing, it became quite easy to follow。 The art was beautiful and I must say that I really enjoy the setting of the story… very distinct main characters that will make you fall in love with them。 Definitely a recommended title!

I loved absolutely every single detail of this, except for the author's note at the end, which made me nervous。 I don't want to see them break up, even if they get back together! And since there's a sequel, I'm a little concerned it might go in a more dramatic direction。 I'm going to preorder it anyway and hope, because this was so, so incredibly lovely。 Definitely jumping right into my favorites。Gosh, how to even talk about this one? And since there's a sequel, I'm a little concerned it might go in a more dramatic direction。 I'm going to preorder it anyway and hope, because this was so, so incredibly lovely。 Definitely jumping right into my favorites。Gosh, how to even talk about this one? The author's note also describes it as "two people who form an emotional bond based on each one making up for what the other lacks, while respecting each other, and which also explores this emotion we call love。" If you're familiar with my fictional preferences at all by now, you'll get that this hits exactly all the right buttons。The volume covers a full year - plus 2 (or 3?) more in the final bonus chapter - but the pacing feels just right。 While a lot of big, important moments happen, it somehow doesn't feel crammed together at all。 The relationship build was fully believable, and each step on their journey together made a lot of sense。 Just。。。incredibly good writing, really, and art that's soft and warm and languid like a quiet day in the countryside。 There could be more backstory, of course, and I'd love to know more about Mitsuomi's time in Tokyo, and what really made him "give up" on life in the big city, where he'd fled from his family to make his own life as a teenager。 I'd like to see more of his older brothers - one of whom is married with kids - and to see how he fits in that overall dynamic。 But it doesn't feel like any of that is missing from this story - it's just the mark of good writing that makes me want more, and leaves me ready to drift off into my own imagination。 While Misuomi was in Tokyo, an orphaned teenager named Yamato was adopted by an older couple who runs a farm next to Mitsuomi's family home。 They missed each other as teens, ships passing in the night, and only began talking once Mitsuomi came back "home" to live with his family and figure out what to do with his life。 He has a short temper and a tendency to speak his mind, which is something Yamato likes about him but most of his (former) employers didn't。Yamato's adopted grandfather shrewdly encourages them to spend time together, hoping that Mitsuomi's frankness will rub off on Yamato, opening him up more。 Yamato, you see, is genuinely sweet and good-natured, but he also hides all his insecurities and emotions behind a ready smile。 And sure enough, over time, Yamato smooths out some of Mitsuomi's rough edges, and learns how to open up his heart and go after what he truly wants。 There are just so, so many great details throughout this volume。 I'm also fascinated by the hints at the end about what it's like for two "single" men approaching their 30s in a very small country town, where everyone knows everyone else's business, but their committed relationship has only been shared with a select few。 It's particularly interesting that it seems like they came out to their families。。。which I would've liked to see in more detail, but maybe that's not necessary, either。 The point is that they're happy together, and while there's some concern about how accepting their little town actually will be, they can weather any storms by sticking together。I look forward to seeing more in volume 2, but since it's a couple more months until I can get my hands on that one, I'll just dwell in the bliss of this very satisfying story for now。 。。。more

A warm and charming story about two guys in their 20s living in a small town and finding each has something the other one needs。 I particularly enjoyed how it showed them supporting each other emotionally, forming a strong friendship as well as a romantic connection。
